Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Honestly, with how popular Don Papa is, I expected something better. The flavor is just too sweet and most importantly, the flavor is SO artificial. There are a lot of taste notes but they just don't blend together well.
At this price point there are so many better rums. For example, the Diplomatico RE is also sweet but feels natural and really smooth.
Sweet and tasteful rum, a smooth taste of caramel, honey and brown sugar. Use it for mixing with Coke, or drink it on the rocks!

A little disappointed in this so called premium rum. It was sweet and thick like syrup and had hint of artifical spices.

Wzbudzający kontrowersje (dużo dodatków), może trochę przesłodzony, ale jeśli chcesz kogoś zainteresować rurowym światem (zwłaszcza kobiety), to idealny na start. Słodki, mocno deserowy, moc wanilii, dla niektórych śmietankowy, totalnie inny. Nawet jeśli nie lubisz takiego stylu, powinieneś wiedzieć o co chodzi, warto go mieć w barku.
Tohle je první rum co jsem nedokázal vypít, protože jeho vůně byla intenzivní, chuť velmi umělá a závěr prakticky žádný. Na druhou stranu najde své příznivce, kteří tyto vůně milují - především ženy a proto mu dávám o jednu hvězdičku více než by si zasloužil

I tried it in the pub and I like the taste and flavor. Maybe it is artificial.

The design of the bottle is absolutely fantastic. Branding storytelling very nice. The issue is that it is not matching in term of taste with what I like… too sweet and very artificial for me. The only way I really enjoyed it: flambé on a crepe with brown sugar.

this rum is not a rum, i think. it is a heavy sweetend spirit, like bubble gum flavour. there is much vanilla sugar in it.
