As long as you like vanilla that is. This one has a bit of a strong vanilla aroma and taste, but it is offset by a good blend of spice and sweetness. The burn is stronger than I would prefer, but is tolerable. Private Stock wouldn't be my first choice for sipping, but it mixes really well and the price is great.
To quote my father-in-law, this stuff is "nasty good". At about $23 a bottle, it is a good daily sipper. The "nasty" comes in with the spice and sweetness. A bit too much, but if you complained about the taste, and someone tried taking your glass away, you'd protest.
At first sip, I did not care for this rum; I thought it was a bit harsh...I am glad I revisited. While I find this to be better mixed with cola or ginger beer, it is a decent rum with good flavors. I don't know that I would make this my regular rum, but I would enjoy it if given the opportunity to drink it.
Helt klart captain morgans bรคsta rom som funkar bรฅde bar o med cola
Smager af klassisk Captain Morgan, men uden den sprittede eftersmag, som er i den normale flaske.
Spiced rum can definitely be a welcome break from the normal rum if you don't take yourself too seriously. They are great with coke but its hard to get to passed the general 'spiced rum' taste. This will change your mind though. It can definitely be drank neat and offers a lot more than just a 'smoother Captain Morgan'.
Like this one, specially for the price. 1671 and the Private Stock are same price locally. I enjoy both and try to keep on hand
it is a sweet blend soft in the mouth with a small kick
Private stock is not the best rum I've tasted but goes well with coke. Syrupy and nutty.
I've been generally sticking to the middle shelf of spiced and dark rums at my local
Stores, thought I would go up a shelf for $10 more. Didn't experience what I wanted, I was hoping for a 1671 flavour but not even close. Too much of a lemon citrus taste that hangs on all the way to the aftertaste. Didn't like it straight with cola or ginger beer. Just not for me.
Captain Morgan was actually a 17th century Welsh pirate...
