Bacardi Superior rum

Bacardi Superior

United States | Light | 40% ABV

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

It's hard to comprehend why most bars use this instead of the baseline versions of Havana Club or Captain Morgan. It's incomparably worse, leaves a bitter aftertaste and I sincerely doubt there's actually rum in that bottle.

If they only have this, I'll order whisky or something else.

Fine if you're on a budget and like mixed drinks. No longer in my 20's, my pallet has matured and I prefer to spend a little more on higher quality liquor.

At $15/handle I don't know what all this people expect to get. Cost $0.38 per shot making drinks very cheap, I can make a single mojito for $0.88, or two for $0.75 each. For that price this makes a excellent cheap drink. Works great in a mojito. This is a cheap mixing rum, not something made to be consumed straight.

For the price I rated this a 9 as it is a absolute must have for a collection. If i weighted the price lightly like I usually do I would give this a 7 as compared to other white rums, or a 6 if price was not factored in.

Price is weighed heavily in my rating of this. I paid $15 for a 1.75 liter bottle.

Well, mixed with Diet Coke, it is great. It is the most popular rum for almost everyone. You can't be negative about it. It is RUM, and it serves the purpose of having a basic rum and coke. Not complexed like an aged rum... just the best of the basic rums out there. I will say, it doesn't give you the SWEETNESS sugar head ache that some sugary rums delivery. You will also get very buzzed !!!

It's cheap and it tastes cheap. It can still make a rum and coke but it's like most Bacardi rums for me, low end and is more of a "I'll drink it if there's no other choice."

Der er ikke meget andet end sprit og cola og så er der vist ikke meget mere at skrive her...

Mix it, mix it, mix it. Never drink it pure. It IS really gasoline-like.

The rum you drink when you know nothing about rums. It's a soulless rum.

Its what they serve in a lot of pubs, and that is the only reason i end up drinking it....of course only half enjoyable with coke. NOT enjoyable without 😀

This rum works well in almost any cocktail, esp. ones with sugars added, such as a monitor or even rum and Coke. Others may look down on this brand, but for me it works and I've never had a complaint from frends.
