Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.
A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.
Artificial alcohol taste. I guess 90% of the budget with bacardi is spend on marketing. Definitely not on the quality lf their low end products.
I'll be honest with you. Bacardi Superior is the standard (basic, bottom shelf) in white rum period. Also, it's the first rum most people have every had the pleasure of drinking. It's not tasty, that's why it gets a score of a 6. It's bland, simple, but you know what, some people like that and Superior fills that void.
I would definitely recommend this to that friend you have that says, "I don't like rum, I like vodka" or "I just want to get sloshed". There are very few other white rums that have these tasting notes (don't laugh) and can be mixed with anything, like a vodka can. Superior is perfect in a mojito or cuba libre.
If you're looking for something similar, but "different" (you know, something that does the same thing) you should try Brugal Especial Extra Dry white rum. I'd give that the same score, but it's good to have options.
There are so many better alternatives, that I can't find any reason to buy this. At least it is a straight, unaltered product. Then again so is Flor de Cana 4 Anos. Price difference is minimal. Hence Bacardi Superior could be used for larger parties but cheaper rum by other distillers will do as well.
Surely it is not a beverage to drink in straight mode, but sinceraly used for coktails it is not much better.
If Bacardi Superior was all the rum i had to drink, i would switch to bourbon. or kerosene for that matter
erm, the rumthat put a generation off drinking rum, this is one not to drink, it has fantastic marketing, we never say it's shit....but you know it is, one for the people not into rum....37.5abv says it all...popular but far from nice...
It only drinkable in a pinch but other than that I stay away from it rather have don q Crystal.
A good rum. Been here and enjoyed for years. Tasting small batch craft rums kinda blows it away. But for consistency and quality still great. A great mixer. Much of it's flavor filtered away
The standard mixer you should always have a large bottle of this in your cabinet when you want cocktails that let the ingredients do the talking. A Bacardi Superior Screwdriver is my favorite.
Its Bacardi, i dont need to say anything else really, everybody's tried probably the biggest standard white rum in the world. Its not great, but as a company the heritage is there and no doubt they'll be making rums forever. Try some more in the range though!
This is a light and smooth white rum that mixes well with any mixers, may it be soda, cranberry or Coke.
Do you know those restaurants were you ask which rum do have? And they answer: Bacardi, can i order a vodka sprite please!
Good for cleaning paint brushes, not much else. A favourite of the working men’s club.
This rum is incredibly poorly conceived and executed. I do not know what gave Bacardi the idea to label this as 'superior' rum, but it's not.
It is quite cheap, though.
Usually everybodies first experience with Rum. Please don't use this as your basis for Rum, this stuff is garbage. It's essentially rubbing alcohol that they sell at the liqour store instead of the pharmacy.
Good enough for mojito or cuba libre at garden party
White, this rum is only for mixing with cola. Nothing special.
I've only drank two different rums ever but by far it is the best (referring to the silver variant); being I've only tryed captain morgan, and the gold variant of Bacardi so my opinion probably means pretty little. Other than that I mainly drink cognacs, brandys, Irish whiskey, or burbon.
Bra drinkbas, bör finnas i grundutbudet för drinkmix hemma tillsammans med Havanna 3. Men som dryckesbedömning är det inget som går att beskriva. Men en klassisk rom och cola med denna flaska är klassisk.
There are so many good white rums available at the price point. Skip it and get something you can enjoy.
One of the poorest white rums out there. The taste is - poor.
Cuba libre? I think its suitable for this. Not for true rum fans.
Silver rum slightly muddled with mint, lime juice & caster sugar! Better by the litre!
The rum cola where it all started. Afterwards I can say the cola was good tho
