United States | Light | 40% ABV

Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

Great in a cocktail, ok in a daiquiri. That's it though. Harsh flavourless not even good with coke.

It's ok for long drinks for example with Coke and a slice of lime.

If there is ever a rum I'd classify as fire water this would be it.

How this product is so popular, I will never know (yeah, I know, marketing.) First off, you don't NEED light rum for anything (cocktail or otherwise.) Bars will tell you that it makes drinks pretty and tastes "neutral." While the first one is correct (because it's see-through,) I personally don't care what the drink looks like. I care that it tastes good. The second part of that statement about it tasting "neutral" is just a flat out lie! Light rum almost always tastes dry and fuel-like (not sweet/complex,) and bites and burns like hell on its own. This product is no exception and yet, it sells better than any other rum in the world. The people in Puerto Rico (where it's made) don't even drink this, they drink Don Q! If you really want a rum drink and want aesthetic appeal over taste, ask for or buy Cruzan Light or at least Don Q. If you're really feeling baller, you can go with some high-end light rum that actually does bring something to the table, like Selvarey...you're welcome!

Let's face it...you don't buy this rum to sit by the fire pit with your buds while enjoying some smooth sipping rum while maybe enjoying a cigar/pipe. This is rum is purely a staple in many rum-based cocktails. To that end, it does exactly what you expect...with no drama. Don't confuse the level 5 rating as inferior. I reserve the higher ratings for rums which have the flavors you'd expect to make a statement when consumed. If these ratings were recalibrated based on the performance given a specific task, this would for sure be an 8 or a 9.

Абсолютно неинтересный ром для коктейлей, даже сложно вспомнить оттенки вкуса

A Carta Blanca-nál talán fél fokkal ihatóbb, bár magában ez sem jó. Koktélnak nem kóstoltam, de annak talán elmegy...

Big name, poor quality. Light, tasteless, alcoholic and utterly forgetable.

The absolute bar default. Would never buy a bottle but its fine when nothing else is available.

Had awesome nights drinking this. Good to go out with but can't name it the real rum.
