Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.
A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.
I cannot understand this is seemingly still the go-to mixer for so many people get a captain cook or a havana 3 anos, you can actually give them a try on their own. I might be too harsh with 2/10 but it should not be this popular.
I gave it 3 stars because it tastes awful when straight. But, Bacardi superior is good with coke, in fact it's better in coke than most of the tasty dark rums. It's an acceptable choice for mixed drinks and it's a fine choice when making rum cake. Because I drink rum straight up, it gets the low rating, but as a mixer or a baking additive, it gets a 6.
Ok maybe 40+ years ago at the frat house or 45 years ago in artillery punch. I guess this is a go too rum for Mojitos with so much sugar mint and lime you can’t taste it, but not my rum
Avoid like the plague, it's vile, you can buy better light rums such as doorlys, havana club 3,el dorado, plantation, Morgan white, all these putt his to shame
This stuff is everywhere. 90% if you visit a cafe or bar and order rum, they will bring you Bacardi. It 's drinkable in coctails, alright. I would never think of sipping it. Would prefer Morgan 's and Havana Club 's a lot more, over this. Especially coctails-wise. Still though, i cannot find myself the spirit to downvote much; there must be a reason behing it being mainstream, at least that is what i would like to think about.
If you have nothing else to buy or to drink, it can work. Not sure where they make it for you region though) haha
But it's a big brand, so at least you won't see off-flavours or faulty bottles
