A wonderfully smooth rum, with a slightly bourbon flavour. Excellent for sipping, not for mixing.
A dry finish with a light burn. Great sipping rum without the sweet heavy taste of a demerara rum.
This rum is in my top three behind Kirk & Sweeney 23 and El Dorado 21. Caramel and toasted nuts drive this smooth drinker and it doesn't disappoint. Finishes clean without being overly sugary. A pleasure to enjoy.
Excellent. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Was expecting a little more and already with the bottle was under whelmed. Price Tag is beyond itโs appeal.
Wunderbar, nicht sรผss, sehr ausgewogen und rund.
Sehr gut
This is some of the best rum I have had. It is complex with a smooth finish. My only critism is the vanilla flavor comes through more than the others an hurts its balance. It reminds me of a better Zaya or a Zacapa with the vanilla turned up.
Great smokey flavor and a nice, sweet slow burn. Just sweet enough to sip, yet able to mix as well.
My new favorite drink
Smooth as a hot summer night
Try to drink a little bit warmer and you will find new emotions
Not too sweet and not too dry, a wonderful presentation of a ideal sipper with a moderate price point of around $50. Just another fine rum in master blender, Don Pancho Fernandez' repertoire. Nicely aged in bourbon casks for at least 21 years, Zafra provides rum aficionados with a premier sipper reflective of Panamanian charm.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I get some molasses on the nose mixed with a hint of bananna. Not a strong or overpowering aroma - it is kind of subtle, very pleasant.
Initial hit brings out the lingering flavor of the bourbon, blends into oak flavors. Other reviews comment on strong oak notes - I dont get that. It is there, but not overpowering. It transitions into a sweet back end of molases before tailing off. Finish is a bit weak, i wish it had more.
Overall a great drink. Smooth, nothing that is overpowering, complex enough to be really enjoyable, simple enough to drink neat pr over some ice. Definitely will keep a bottle in my cabinet.
