It's really not that good honestly. It's simple beyond words. Its 85% oaky 10% vanilla and some sugar and trace other things. The bottle is nice to have in the cabinet but really it's nothing special. Honestly buy 2 bottles of brugal anejo. They taste identical except brugal has a slight less oak flavour. Drinking this straight is alright. Slight burn but nothing bad. Honestly Brugal is made in Dominican Republic and so is this. It would be no surprise to me if this was made in the same place using the same formula as brugal just in a different cask. It might be slightly less smooth than brugal anejo. But for 20$ less I would take brugal. I also could just add sugar to my brugal and it would be this at a large cost savings. I give it 8/10 because it's drinkable straight and I like the oak flavor but it's still nothing flashy. It's just good, not great, not memorable. Just good. Much like that movie you saw a month ago that was "good" but not that memorable, what was it's name again?

Don’t know the Viscaya story but I really like it a lot, smooth sweat, nice depth and color. I recommend trying it.

Nice amber colour.
Nose: raisins, vanilla, honey, coffe
Taste: honey, dried fruits, mocka/coffe, some citrus trace, smooth, but fiery. Nice and pleasant aftertaste.

This is a great rum to drink on a nice rainy evening, or to mix with coke. It's sweet, it smells good. It's a little simple tho. Not complex. Still a very nice butt not so special rum

This be a smooth, quality rum. A little sweet, a little spice, and lots of chocolate flavor. The wenches love chocolate, so they'll love this. It be a tad simple in flavor, but still a solid rum for sippin'.

Got this after checking the reviews here. Has a good long burn. Some complain of sweetness, not too sweet. Not very complex either as others have noted. Solid, but not top tier.

Not so smooth as expected, and no complexity. Little vanilla flavour, but far away from Plantation XO (same price range).

This one is really fine rum. Smells absolutely fantastic and is very smooth. Vanilla, cane butter scotch and more....
Will buy again.

Reminds me of the 12 year from what I remember which is a good buy for the price. Very thin mouth feel and not alot going on but super smooth.

Distilled from straight sugarcane and not molasses this is a very good Rum. Nice odors when you lift the cork an a good sweet taste but it goes down so damn smooth with no burn at all. Even the price is smooth for the quality of this Rum. Just Buy It and Taste It Yourself!!

If you can find it, get it. It is inexpensive but good for the price. I would add a rock and let it open up a bit then enjoy.
