10 Cane rum was founded in 2005 by Moët Hennessy and produced in Trinidad.
The 10 Cane production process includes twice distilling the first pressing of fresh sugar cane in copper pot stills, and then aging for up to 6 months in french oak barrels.
The rum's name - "10 Cane" - is derived from the tradition of harvesting sugar cane stalks by hand in bundles of 10.
From reading the description I was expecting something with more of a vegetable like taste, like a rhum agricole or a cachaca. It has a sweet but clean aroma with hints of lilac and honey, and a smooth taste with a hint of orange peel and very little burn. Not a lot of flavor as a sipper, but would be great on ice with a twist of lime, or in a fruity cocktail like a classic daiquiri.
As the song goes: It's fresh, fresh, exciting. It's so exciting to me. Fresh and lovely, like a dream come true. I'd do anything to spend the night with you. Um... maybe not the last part. It's nice in drinks when you don't want a prominent rum flavor, since this leans towards light and clean.
One of the finest light rums I have ever had, hands down.
A go-to for rum and cokes at airports, usually the only brand available there beyond the usual big name brands
Has a slight bitter flavor to me.
This is a very good light rum. I started drinking it straight, but find it very good for mojitos or anything that calls for a light rum.
Excellent rum for a daiquiri
A good choice for daiquiris and punch. Made from select first press cane juice, aged up to 6 months in oak, this premium white rum is double distilled for an uncommonly light and smooth flavor, produced by one of the great French distillers.
but has some rough edges. Adds interesting flavors to mixed drinks.
It's mellow and clean.
Adds a nice change to the basic mojito without adding fruit
